CBRN Treatment Centres
Salient Feature
- CBRN Treatment centre has been prepared to treat casualties inflicted with effects of a CBRN attack.
- Established on the basis of a Pilot Project.
- The centre is protected 24 x 7 from all the possible CBRN threats.
- Centre is equipped with nuclear, biological, and chemical detection equipment.
- Works on the principle of overpressure so that there is no ingress of any contaminated air into the protected area.
- During the normal times when there is no threat, the system works on Dust free system and the composite filters are by passed and conserved.
- All the operations are synchronized through a control panel and in the case of an event automatic closing of doors, build up of overpressure, cutting of water supply etc take place automatically.
- Fresh air entry into treatment centre through composite filters only.
- Decontamination facility inside the treatment centre, separate for men and women.
- Entry is strictly restricted to people who are free of any type of contamination.
- Evacuation of serious casualties through NBC ambulances which are also protected against NBC threat.
- An overpressure of minimum 10mm of water column is required to be maintained all the time in the treatment centre.
- Excessive pressure in the centre than the desired level is released through pressure relief valves.
- Protection can be provided from a 10 men to a 5000 men facility.
- No need for masks or protective clothing no restrictions of “normal life” inside shelter
- Much higher protection larger filter capacity, providing long-term continuous protection.
- Additional capabilities in adsorption of toxic industrial chemicals (TIC, TIM, ROTA-incidents).
- Blast protection abilities.
- System can be used for ventilation/dust filtration only no expenditure of NBC-filter
